The Beauty of Finding Peace in Suffering

I’m coming out of hiding.  It almost feels as though I have new eyes.  Most everything in my life has changed since I last wrote to you.  If I could explain in one word what the last year and a half has felt like, it would be “suffering.”  There are many ways in which one can suffer and some would be seen as far worse than others.  Even so one thing remains, suffering is painful and will most definitely lead to some sort of change.  In an article What is Sanctification and How Does It Work? | Cru and a google search, I found that Christians endure suffering as a means of sanctification, which is the change of heart required to gain alignment of our will with Gods will. This gives me peace.  In the last eighteen months, change has meant loss.  My family of four moved, changing our home and city which resulted in losing a beautiful community.  We walked away from being worship leaders in a Church building which resulted in losing another beautiful community.  I let go of all social media, adding to the great loss of yet another community and finally chose to step away from ...

Choosing Slow

Welcoming a new season seems to be the only thing on my mind these days.  My children are so eager for summer, and I too share in their excitement for warm days, fireflies, and campfires. To put it simply, I believe we are all just yearning for slow. We bought a camper on December 17…

Confessions Of A Ragamuffin Worship Leader

Close your eyes, the change is coming. Hold your breath, the pain is rising. Feel the weight, lay on your chest. Let it burn, let it burn. These lyrics from the song For the Time We Have, by Common Hymnal capture so accurately the feelings of knowing things will never be the same. Journal Entry…

God is in You.

One day last year I had a Tony Evans sermon playing on my phone as I was putting on my makeup. I was half listening, half hurrying when I heard him say something that stopped me in my tracks. He recited 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NIV May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through…

And Everyone Who Calls on The Name of The Lord Will Be Saved. Acts 2:21

Sorry I’m a bit late on this blog post. Last week was busy, difficult, confusing, and beautiful. It was all I could do to get through each day and not get caught up in the real of life, let alone sit down and think of anything to write that may be worth your time. Now…

Rest Is Found in The Lord

I am trying to be more intentional with my quiet time. The world is loud, and I have so many ideas capturing my attention. So many people and tasks pulling me this way and that way. Honestly, in this season I have good things that are taking up my time. Well, things that I could…

God Hears You

I walked into my new job with pressed white pants, bright white nursing shoes and a cute pink and white checkered scrub top. I really looked the part. I had an expensive lavender colored stethoscope around my neck and my new badge hooked onto my pocket. This badge held my first professional title, “PCA” (aka,…

If He Calls You, He Will Equip You

November 2019 God called me to an assignment.  He came to me in a dream. I knew it was Him as I was beginning to recognize when the Holy Spirit would nudge me from within. In my dream there was a book cover with the title, The Change in Us.  It was plain white with…

Blessings in Obedience

Are you familiar with the ten commandments? You probably thought to yourself, ‘yes of course.’ I thought I was too. I do know the ten commandments enough to tell you what they are, probably not in the right order as they are laid out in the bible, but I could ramble them off if asked. …
